No story intro here. Kazuma just decides to leave because he figures that everyone in the world will be at Serena to see what happened. As Kazuma leaves the alley however, a nearby guy mentions that all sorts of police and ambulances are heading to Purgatory because something happened. Uh oh.

At Purgatory, Kazuma finds Date with his head wrapped. He and Kage are at the hideout, but Haruka isn't there. Date explains that Haruka was kidnapped, and Kage follows up that she was taken by a gang. Apparently, there are three gangs in the city: Red, White, and Blue. All three do work for the Yakuza, and all three hit Purgatory at once. Date took a shot in the forehead with a steel pipe, hence the bandage, but he's all right.

Kazuma asks which of the three gangs took Haruka, but Kage doesn't know. Kazuma is fine with this... it just means three times the fighting, three times the fun!

The Blue Z gang is on the corner just west of Purgatory. Talk to them to start a little fight that you could win blindfolded. After that, heal up, and go the Champion District. The White Edge gang there, in that road leading south. (You may have seen that one, where a guy in white track gear keeps telling you that the area behind him is for members only.)

The fight with the White Edge will be brutal. Everyone there aside from the leader will be armed, and you will take tons of damage. Hopefully you'll have enough healing items to counteract the damage; never leave home without them.

The leader of White Edge will say that it's all Bloody Eye's doing. They, the red gang, hang out at Deborah. Before Kazuma can go there, Date calls him up and says that the Homicide Division has been given orders to search for Haruka. This doesn't make a lick of sense to anyone, as Haruka is kidnapped, not murdered. Kazuma and Date wonder what's going on, but maybe Bloody Eye can clear up the situation.

Inside Deborah are many people to talk to. They all seem to agree that Bloody Eye did the deed with Purgatory, and one young punk even mentions that he saw the leader hanging out with a little girl. The leaders are at the upstairs VIP tables, where you fought the Yakuza morons when you were chasing Kage's son.

There's a single jerk up there, but he's got a small posse to back him up when you fight him. After that, he'll run away and tell the Bloody Eye leader, who is downstairs. Exit the VIP tables area and go down to the dance floor.

This fight is fairly simple, even if you are taking on more than usual. Whip out a weapon and eliminate the minions, leaving the brothers. The big one blocks a lot and hits harder, while the small one dodges a lot. Both are vulnerable to grabs—not throws, but grabs and punches.

Finish the fight, and Kazuma interrogates the small brother. He gives up that Bloody Eye was only hired to find the girl, that they no longer have her. They were hired by some guy named Lau Ka Long.

The name triggers a memory in Kazuma. We see him getting tortured by some men of Lau Ka Long, although he is saved at the last minute by Fuma. Fuma took a bullet in the leg during the rescue attempt, which is why he limps to this day. Kazuma was grateful for being saved, although the viciousness of Lau Ka Long still slightly haunts him.

Still, if it's Lau who's got Haruka, it's Lau that Kazuma will seek out. But first, upon exiting the Deborah, Kazuma gets a call from Date, who wants to meet up at the Purgatory hideout for an update.

After speaking to Date, Kazuma gets a call from Kage, who wants to see him in the monitor room. You can ignore this and just speak to Date again to head after Lau, but let's do the optional mission first.

Looks like the surveillance system is back online. Go there, and you'll get a cut scene to start automatically. Turns out that the wife of the man Nishiki shot 10 years ago came by looking for Kazuma. Kage delivers to him a letter from the wife, named Yayoi, that asks him to meet her at the place where Dojima was shot. Kage warns Kazuma not to go, but what fun would that be?

Simply follow the green arrow to the Todo Building and step inside. The path is basically linear, and you'll eventually find the office where the incident happened. Inside is a simple bouquet of roses, and Kazuma will flashback to the night. You'll basically get a slideshow of images from the incident; push the X button at each to go to the next one.

Exit the office, then turn south and enter the door at the end of the hall. Inside the next office will be a single woman in a kimono who is looking out into the pouring rain. Yayoi says that she believed in Kazuma back then, but now, he must suffer for her husband's death. Doors open, and a team of guys in suits pop out, ready for a fight.

These guys are nothing, and even though one has a sword, he's not a threat. After the fight, Kazuma sort of regrets beating them up for once. As he turns to leave, Yayoi confronts him with a sword and asks whether Kazuma really killed him. She knows that he just took the heat for someone else, and demands to know the truth. Kazuma refuses, at least until this business with the 10 billion yen is settled. He bows to her, then leaves, and she allows him to go in peace.

Now it's time to go after Haruka. Buy at least three Stamina Royales at the drug store (although more would be better), then go to your hideout in Purgatory. Equip your best weapons and armor, then speak to Date.
