The leader of the Shimano family, Futo Shimano, is getting prepared for the funeral as he hears the report by his people. They're apologetic for losing to Kazuma, and they say he's as tough as ever. Futo thanks them, then proceeds to cut off two of the lead guy's fingers. Nice guy.

Kazuma and Shinji go over the plan for the funeral so the former isn't caught and killed. All he has to do is pretend he's at the funeral to pay his respects to Chairman Sera without drawing too much attention to himself. Doesn't sound too hard...

Just like the plan that Shinji said, you must sneak to the main gate of the temple. However, the main section is crawling with lookouts who will throw Kazuma out for looking suspicious. Don't worry, if you're caught, you can just try again without penalty.

To get to the goal, go under the arch, then turn right into the parking lot. Move against the wall, so you're squeezed between the wall and the cars. Stick to the wall and follow it around until you reach the group of six people or so (one will automatically talk to you). There is a lookout near here, so you'll need to wait until he's got his back turned before proceeding.

Finish with the people who automatically spoke, then turn left and run back to the main path. Keep an eye out for yet another lookout who might be at the intersection. Turn right (north) when you can, and speak to the man at the reception desk. He'll want you to sign in, and you'd be a fool to sign your real name. Sign a fake one, then say you used to belong to the Dojima clan. You'll be allowed in after that.

Go forward, and though you can turn right toward the flashing panel of the radar, a guy will stop you: you'll need a "mourning badge" to get by him. So forget about it for now, and just enter the temple. The guy at the reception desk inside... is complaining about losing his mourning badge? Ah ha! Head back out, then turn west. Go behind that reception desk (it's opposite of the one you signed in at), and you'll spot something on the ground. Wonder what this could be?

Kazuma will automatically wear the mourning badge on his left breast pocket, which will give him the magical ability to Get Past the Guard. Head over to the glowing panel now, and you'll run into a very large man from the Omi family.

The man recognizes Kazuma, and he explains that they're trying to kill Kazuma as a favor to Nishiki. A fight ensues, but it's easy enough.

Still, Kazuma reports the fight to Shinji, who says that no one told Shinji this would happen. Kazuma warns Shinji to be careful... perhaps Nishiki suspects that Shinji is helping Kazuma? Either way, Shinji starts to lead Kazuma to Fuma, in a close-by building.

Inside, as Shinji heads up the stairs, a guy in sunglasses and holding a briefcase will sell some items to Kazuma. You may want to buy a couple things for later. Upstairs, Shinji will lead you to a room with an Item Box (like a safe deposit box) and a save point.

If you decide to wait by just standing around, you won't accomplish anything. On the wall of the door, you'll notice several pictures hanging up. Have Kazuma get near them, then hit X to examine them. Kazuma will name each person, along with giving his personal thoughts about each one.

After checking out the portraits, Fuma will appear. He apologizes for not getting Kazuma sprung from prison earlier, and tells him that Nishiki became relatively insane after Dojima's death. Fuma has information about Yumi as well, but a sniper's bullet takes him out before he gets a chance to spill it.

In through the room then busts Shimano and his cronies. It certainly looks like Kazuma was responsible for Fuma's death, and Shimano doesn't wait for questions and answers before starting a fight. Shimano doesn't participate, and although Kazuma has no problem taking out the first four idiots, more are called in.

Fuma has enough life left in him to tell Kazuma to haul ass out of there. Kazuma hesitates, but then bails out the window.

Now you've got a gauntlet to deal with. Run through and punch the crap out of anyone you come to. Watch your back, arm yourself if you can, and avoid being hit with weapons. You'll have to deal with three groups, and only the middle one will probably give you trouble. Your checkpoint will be the temple.

Once inside, you'll have a few more groups of enemies. Every so often, pause the game and see if you can upgrade your abilities; you'll at least need Body at level 2 or 3 to make it through this. You'll be taking a roundabout way to get out, but just follow the arrows, and know that if there are bad guys around, that's the direction you need to move.

Once outside again, you'll have another group of minor guys. And then... it's time to deal with Shimano himself. He's a pain, just because he constantly blocks and can't be thrown. All you have to do is bust out guard break combos, created by hitting the square button three or four times followed by triangle. Keep up this pattern, and you'll have him down in no time. Remember to block if your timing gets thrown off.

After the fight, Kazuma runs away from the hundreds of Yakuza soldiers after him. On his way out, he sees Nishiki, and they make eye contact. Nishiki's expression is... amusement? Or is there something more behind it?
