Tokyo (東京, Tōkyō) is the capital city of Japan, and the area in which a number of pertinent Yakuza series locations are situated. As well as its Kamurocho red-light district, Tokyo is also where the headquarters of the Tojo Clan, one of Japan's largest yakuza organizations, is located. Tokyo is situated near the south coast of Japan's Honshu. Just south of the megacity is Yokohama, birthplace of Kazuma Kiryu, and where the Snake Flower Triad has its headquarters.
History[]
Kamurocho was established in Tokyo's Shinjuku Ward in the mid-20th century, and by 1980 was a hotbed of organized crime. The Tojo Clan Headquarters was built by first chairman Makoto Tojo also around the mid-20th century. In 2002, the Advanced Drug Development Center was set up on a specially-built campus in the outskirts of the city.

A huge turf war erupts between the Tojo Clan and the Omi Alliance, who are looking to take over Tokyo for themselves. Additionally, the Jingweon Mafia are looking to destroy Kamurocho in revenge for the 1980 Jingweon massacre.
