Saya Date (伊達 沙耶, Date Saya) is a character featured in Yakuza/Yakuza Kiwami and Yakuza 4. She is the only daughter of Makoto Date.

Saya has spiky neck-length light-brown hair and dark brown eyes.
Attire[]
She originally appears with a school uniform, but she is more often seen in casual clothing with a necklace.
Personality[]
Early on, Saya is quite rebellious towards adults such as Kazuma Kiryu, as her father became aloof and struggled to interact with her growing up. However, as her father became more involved with her life, she began acting more mature and respectful.
Involvement[]
Yakuza/Yakuza Kiwami: 2005[]
Saya appears initially soliciting Kiryu, but goes away after he tried to reprimand her. Later, she is forced to be a porn actress to pay Shota's debts off after he tricks her into thinking he loves her. Date intervenes after previously standing her up and, with Kiryu's assistance, is able to beat Shota and save Saya. Father and daughter make up afterwards.
Yakuza 2: 2006[]
It is mentioned that Saya decides to become a hairdresser. She does not appear in this game.
Yakuza 4: 2010[]
Saya is shown to have become successful, and wants her father to meet her new boyfriend. Although she now lives with her mother, she and Makoto Date still appear to have a good relationship.
Like a Dragon: Infinite Wealth: 2023[]
Saya is now married and has three children.
Trivia[]
- In Yakuza 6, Date recounts Saya's incident eleven years prior that Kiryu helped with, and he states that Haruto reminds him of her when she was an infant.
