This is the Siddham character within the sphere holded by the dragon of Kazuma Kiryu's tattoo. Siddham script is an old alphasyllabary used to write Sanskrit language and is used today in Japanese Tantric Buddhism in mystical practices.

The Vam character is the Bīja (seed syllabe) of Dainichi Nyorai (Sanskrit: Mahavairocana Tathagata) in the Mandala of the Two Realms, considered the central Buddha, the universal light of Tantric Buddhism. He constitutes the origin of all things. Is the energy that is present throughout. From this central figure emanate all other forces of the universe. All Buddhas radiate from Dainichi as the sun illuminates the cosmos.

The Vam syllabe (Sanskrit: वं vaṁ) is Japanised as バン (ban)
